Lovely Professional University or LPU is a private institution situated in Chaheru, Phagwara, Punjab, India. Established in 2005 under the Lovely Professional University Act, 2005 (Punjab Act 25 of 2005), it began operations in 2006. LPU holds multiple approvals and recognitions from bodies such as the University Grants Commission (UGC), Council of Architecture, Association Of Indian Universities (AIU), National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Council Of Architecture(COA), Indian Council Of Agricultural Research (ICAR), The Institution Of Engineers (India), Institute Of Town Planners, India (ITPI), and Bar Council of India (BCI). In its first NAAC accreditation cycle, LPU achieved an “A++” grade. The university offers programmes across diverse fields, including business, fashion design, engineering, law, education, agriculture, humanities, and tourism. Admission to the majority of the courses is based on the LPUNEST. LPU has also started a few new courses - B.Tech (CSE - Fintech and AI), B.Tech. (CSE - Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality, Bachelor of Social Work (Hons.), Diploma in Child and Elderly Care, and MA (Clinical Psychology) with Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI approval).
